Ee maanadandangal vachu nokkumbol — Muhammad ﷺ Measured against these tests — Muhammad ﷺ

Charithrathiludaneelam dashalakshakkanakkinu aalukal padhichu parishodhichu ethichcheranna oru peraanu — Arabia-yile Muhammad ﷺ. Nammal munpu vacha moonu maanadandangal addhehathinte jeevithathil engane prathiphalikkunnu ennu nokkaam — vishvaasathilalla, rekhappeduthiya charithrathilaanu.

One name that millions across history have examined and arrived at is Muhammad ﷺ of Arabia. Let's see how the three tests we laid out apply to his life — not based on belief, but on recorded history.

Test 1 — Character Test 1 — Character
"Al-Ameen" — vishvaasayogyan ennu ariyappettavan
"Al-Amin" — known as "the trustworthy" long before

Pravachanam labhikkunnathinu 40 varsham mumpe, Mecca-yile janangal — ethiraalikal polum — addhehathe "Al-Ameen" (vishvaasayogyan) ennum "As-Saadiq" (sathyavaan) ennum vilichirunnu. Avar avarude vilappetta vasthukkal addhehathinte kaiyil sookshikkaan kodutthirunnu. Addhehathinte prakhyaapanathinethire ettavum kaduthaa shathrukkal polum addhehathinte sathyasandhathaye chodyam cheythittilla.

Forty years before revelation, the people of Mecca — even his fiercest opponents — called him "Al-Amin" (the trustworthy) and "As-Sadiq" (the truthful). They entrusted their valuables to him for safekeeping. Even his harshest critics, once he began preaching, never accused him of lying.

Test 2 — The message Test 2 — The message
Vyakthilaabhathinu pakaram ekadaivathilekku maathram kshanam
A call to One God only — never to personal gain

Mecca-yile pramukhar addhehathinu sampathum adhikaaravum vaagdhaanam cheythu — sandesham nirthiyaal. Addheham athu nirasichu. Addhehathinu swanthamaayi oru kottaaravumilla, nidhisheekharavumilla. Marikkumbol addhehathinte veettil adhikam swathukkal undaayirunnilla. Sandesham eppozhum ore dishayilekku choondi — "oru srashtaavine maathram aaraadhikkuka, enneyalla."

Mecca's leaders offered him wealth and power — if he would stop preaching. He refused. He owned no palace, amassed no treasury. At his death, his household held little wealth at all. His message pointed always in one direction — "worship the Creator alone, not me."

Test 3 — The sign Test 3 — The sign
Oru nirakshsharan konduvanna oru grantham
A book brought by a man who could not read or write

Addhehathinu vaayikkaano ezhuthaano ariyillaayirunnu — charithrakaaranmaar ithu sthireekarikkunnu. Ennittum addhehathiloode vanna grantham — Quran — akkaalathe arabi kavikale polum velluviliikkunna oru saahithyaroopathilaanu. 1400 varshamaayi oru aksharavyathyaasavumillaathe sookshikkappettirikkunnu. Ee granthathekkurichu aduttha padiyil kooduthal aazhathil nokkaam.

He could neither read nor write — historians confirm this. Yet the book that came through him — the Quran — is composed in a literary form that challenged even the finest Arab poets of the time. It has been preserved without a single letter's variation for over 1400 years. We will look closer at this book in the next step.

Oru chintha A thought

13 varsham Mecca-yil peedanam sahichu — bahishkaranam, kollaan shramam, kudumbathinte maranam. Oru vaakku pinnottu poyaal ellaam avasaanikkumaayirunnu. Addheham athu cheythilla. Nettathinuvendiyallaatha, bodhyathil ninnulla sthirathayaanu ithu kaanikkunnathu.

Thirteen years of persecution in Mecca — boycott, assassination attempts, the deaths of loved ones. One retracted word would have ended it all. He never said it. This is the consistency of conviction, not of ambition.

Test 4 — What was foretold, and what came true after Test 4 — What was foretold, and what came true after
Mun granthangalile soochanakalum, maranasheshamu pularnna vaakkukalum
Hints in earlier scriptures, and words fulfilled after his death

Thorayilum suvishehsathilum varaanirikkunna oru doothanekkurichulla soochanakal charithrakaaranmaar choondikaanikkunnu. Athilum shraddheyamaayathu — addheham jeevithakaalathu paranja chila kaaryangal addhehathinte maranathinu nootaandukalkku shesham kruthyamaayi sambhavichu ennu charithrarekhakal rekhappeduthunnu. Ithu oru manushyante oohathiloode saadhyamalla.

Historians point to references in the Torah and the Gospel that some read as hints of a coming messenger. More striking still — accounts record that certain things he said during his lifetime came to pass, in precise detail, centuries after his death. That is not something achievable through human guesswork.

Swabhaavam, sandesham, adayaalam — moonnum orumichu niraverruunnu. Ithu oru nigamanathilekku choondunnu — addhehathiloode vanna granthathe oru yukthisahamaaya drishtiyode parishodhikkendathundu.

Character, message, and sign — all three are met together. That points to one conclusion — the book that came through him deserves a closer, reasoned look.

"Granthathilekku nokkaam.
Quran enthaanu?"
"Let's look at the book itself.
What is the Quran?"
